Food tastes like institutional type cuisine. Bland soggy canned vegs.

Walking distance to our motel is Happy Days diner. As you would expect, it is decorated in the Happy Days genre. I thought it was good diner food with a complete bar and they have mile high pies to complete your meal. I had the senior chicken fried steak dinner which is a perfect size. Yay ,old age has some advantages. When you want more than fast food or Mexican, this place is A-OK.

I'm patient but after 20 minutes of waiting for anyone to take our order we finally went up and asked for someone to come take our order. 10 minutes later someone finally came by. Apparently our server was more concerned with bussing tables. Anyways, food took a little over 20 minutes. It was edible. Service was scarce. Had to ask anytime we needed something, which wasn't much. All we wanted was a quick little in and out brunch so we could keep trucking down the road to Houston. Ended up wasting an hour. I would recommend McDonald's or Arby's.

Decided to eat here on my way back to Dallas instead of one of the fast food joints near by. You're not gonna get any surprises here. The food is classic American diner food. Breakfast is served all day so I decided to go for the Country Fried Breakfast. It's a chicken fried steak with two eggs, hash browns or grits and toast or pancakes. For less than $10 it's very reasonable and the portion size is nice. Everything was cooked perfect. My eggs were over medium and my hash browns crunchy. The chicken fry was covered in gravy yet still had a nice crunch on the breading and the steak was very tender and well seasoned. Overall it was a satisfying meal. The servers were friendly as you'd expect from a small town diner. A bit slow though. But again, small town so I doubt anyone here's in much of a hurry. I would certainly recommend stopping here if you're passing by along I-35.

Solid place to stop while on the road. Got cheeseburger, curly fries, a chocolate milkshake. The milkshake and cheeseburger were pretty good while the fries were a little stale. The service was very friendly and prompt. Would stop here again.

This was another stop on our way back from Dallas. Cool little stop in Pauls Valley. The whole place was decorated as a 50's diner. They had a lot of cool art on the walls which included old stars you would expect and local cars we know from car shows. It is especially cool to talk to the owner and hear how everything came from patrons of the restaurant. The bacon burger was great! I wish I would have been hungrier as the pies looked incredible too!! We heard people raving about the cherry pie while we were there too.

This place looks great from the outside. Their menu is very limited for a "50s Style Diner" the french toast tasted old, don't know how you can screw up french toast, the bacon tasted like the cheapest bacon you could buy. My eggs were so greasy I had to wipe the tops with a napkin. The waitress was very sweet, service was slow but not her fault. The cooks, 2 of them slower than death with only 5 tables occupied. We were here at 6pm. Won't stop here again on our travels.

The waitstaff is bored looking teenagers that are just plain annoyed that you want them to wait on them. That is the first impression you get after walking into a sour smelling, dirty floored building. The food itself is not terrible but nothing to wait 45 minutes to get, when you do get it, it's obvious the plates have been sitting there getting cold for a while. Once you're finished eating you should just walk up to the counter to get your check because they are definitely not bringing it to you. My husband is a military man so he eats in less than 5 minutes, we were there for well over an hour. We won't be back.

Stopped in on our way to Dallas. Had great service and the food was amazing. I ordered the chicken fried steak with white gravy. Amazing! It has a very small town feel, so it that not your scene I wouldn't stop in. I'm so full the rest of this trip is going to be hard. Just need a bed now.

Mediocre but digestible. I had the chicken fried steak with fries and okra. The CFS was decent. The gravy was from a package, so was the okra and the fries. My husband had a waffle with bacon and sausage. The meats were good but the waffle was over cooked. The food took a little too long to come out..about 20 minutes. Overall, not horrible, but just okay. We only came here because it was a Monday and Punkin's, which is just down the road, was closed. As far a water, as mentioned in a previous review, was decent today. Yes, the water does come from a lake and the flavor will change with the seasons and water levels. Oklahoma water all over the state is kind of bad. I wish more Oklahoma restaurants would use a filtration system. As far as Paul's Valley, it is a good town with lots of local restaurants. I would like to try them all eventually. A great place to stop off of the I-35 half way between OKC and Dallas. Great camping all around the area. I love supporting the local businesses and hope they take these reviews seriously and try to improve themselves.

The Big Bopper was awesome! The bun was surprisingly good. My wife and I split it and still took home almost half of it. It had a great taste for a traditional burger. We will definitely go back again!

Okay but nothing to brag about. Should have gone elsewhere. Service was good.

Went here because the Mexican place next door was closed due to mechanical issues. Too bad. Our server, Erica, seemed to have something else on her mind and could not get the food out when it was ready. Everything arrived cold. Should have complained, She wouldn't have cared. How do you mess up ground sirloin (hamburger)? When the bill arrived there was an error which was brought to the attention of the cashier. They had to look things up in the menu to verify I was correct. Of course, our wonderful server didn't care about that either. My wife was really upset that I left a tip but at least the cashier had a decent attitude.

So, it was the happy day's theme. . .with some descent memorabilia. Ordered a water and it tasted like dish detergent. . .stopped drinking it. Waitress said the lake was turning as the reason the water tastes so bad. . .I gave a questioning aka "Are you stupid" look. She then proceeded to ask, "Isn't that where all drinking water come from?" I just went back looking over the menu and said no. Needless of the entertaining waitress and her excellent deduction, I asked for bottled water and they didn't have any. Even a soda couldn't hide the taste, so I went to the truck and got a couple of bottled waters. What I didn't expect (a poor not thinking big spectrum due to exhaustion on my part) was the food to taste like the tap water. . .ugh. After trying the meatloaf special, which wasn't bad with ketchup and tabasco. . .alot of both, the frozen vegetables. . .I bravely stomached them down. I was too tired to argue and rant/rave about the quality. It was warm and the temperature was dropping quickly to 23 degrees minus the wind and rain. There were icicles on the road signs and off of the cars if that will clue you in. So, I would not recommend this place until they filter the water like 20 times or get a reverse osmosis unit. The staff was nice enough and the restaurant was fairly clean, hence the 2 stars. It was a tough call trying to figure out if the drinking water was worse than the 3 hour traffic fight in Dallas plus the 2 hour traffic fight in Houston. Its debatable.

Good food. Good service. Enjoyed a pleasant atmosphere with a song from the jukebox every now and then. Bathrooms clean and pleasant smelling.

Okay, I laughed a little at the name when I drove by on my way to meet a friend for lunch. Then it ended up THAT's where we were eating. He had breakfast. I had pie. The menu looked good and I was glad to see fried green tomatoes. But having ordered pie I did not wish to muddle my food groups. I had the cherry pie and it was probably on the best cherry pies I've had, Warrant be damned. My friend polished off breakfast and then ordered the chocolate meringue pie. He said it tasted like the cooked chocolate pies and not the crappy made from instant pudding ones. I'm going to take his word for it, though I really doubt he's making pies from scratch in his Paul's Valley bachelor pad. I will go back and try more from the menu. They have a giant burger and a green tomato pie. We shall see.

Awesome food, awesome service. Everything was great. The tilapia fish I had there was the best I had. I liked the decoration and lots of references to 60s . We had a great time there. Recommend it everyone. Can't wait to go back again.

YUM!! Food was hot and delicious. I had Swiss mushroom burger, and my husband had the open faced hot beef sandwich... he said it was delicious! Waitress was a sweetheart... All staff we came in contact was very friendly and young!

I had the Mushroom Swiss Burger, with fried okra. The okra was spot-on, the burger was not at all bad, but it deconstucted as it was being held. The caramel sundae was on a much bigger dish than it needs, but traditional sundae cup might have been too small.

I think that this place was a Denny's at one time, but it's a nice diner now. Everything that we ordered was just right and even the grits were perfect. The staff treated my daughter like royalty, which was nice for early in the morning when she's groggy. There were quite a few locals in the place, which is a good indicator, for me anyway, that the place is regularly pretty good. If you're traveling with kids, I'd recommend this place. When you get done eating and the kids are all kinds of sugared up, run straight into town until you get to the tracks and you'll find a nice park with a couple of rail cars. It's a simple, unplugged good time.

Order the burger. The meatloaf, mashed potatoes, & green beans were all inedible. The French fries weren't good either. Service was poor.

food was great. I had the country fried steak and my friend had the T-bone. The portion size was very good. my only complaint was that we could hear what the employees were saying in the kitchen area. they need to be just a bit quieter.

This was a quirky place, but there aren't a lot of choices around here. The staff was very friendly. I had a burger that seemed to be the right choice for the place. The food was good - I just happened to have dinner with a fly that wouldn't leave me alone!
